Overview
Marseille is the real, unfiltered, Mediterranean France. This is not the polished, lavender-filled Provence of postcards; its a 2,600-year-old, cosmopolitan, port city with a raw, energetic, and slightly edgy soul. The city's heart is the Vieux-Port (Old Port), a massive, 2,000-year-old, U-shaped harbor, still filled with fishing boats, and now lined with chic restaurants.
