Virgin Voyages RockStar Suites aren’t just bigger cabins — they’re a fundamentally different way to sail. Priority boarding through a VIP lane, RockStar Agent support handling your requests, access to Richard’s Rooftop (the members-only sundeck), and a fully stocked in-room bar waiting when you arrive. Step up to Mega RockStar Quarters and Virgin layers on an included daily bar tab with defined limits, daily Thermal Suite access, included WiFi, and private transfers or parking. This guide covers every suite type across both tiers, what each tier actually includes, how the Mega RockStar drink benefit works in practice, and when the jump from RockStar to Mega is worth the price.
Virgin Voyages organizes suites into two distinct tiers — and the tier matters more than the square footage. The tier you book determines your included perks beyond the physical room. For a broader look at how suites compare to standard cabin types, start with our complete cabin type breakdown.
The entry-level suite tier. You get meaningful access perks beyond any standard cabin — Richard’s Rooftop, priority boarding, RockStar Agent support, and a stocked in-room bar — but you don’t receive the Mega-tier bundled extras like ship-wide drinks, spa access, or transfers. Four suite types fall here: Seriously Suite, Brilliant Suite, Sweet Aft Suite, and Cheeky Corner Suite.
The full luxury tier. Everything from Tier 1 plus a daily bar tab with defined limits, daily Thermal Suite access in Redemption Spa, a bottomless in-room bar (restocked throughout your voyage), premium Work from Sea WiFi, and private transfers or complimentary parking where available. Four suite types: Gorgeous Suite, Posh Suite, Fab Suite, and Massive Suite.
Pro Tip: A common mistake is assuming RockStar Quarters (Tier 1) include ship-wide drinks. They don’t. The in-room bar is a curated first-round setup — once those bottles are gone, drinks at bars and restaurants are pay-as-you-go unless you purchase a Bar Tab. Only Mega RockStar includes the daily bar tab benefit at venues across the ship.

Seriously Suite — 352 sq ft. The entry point to RockStar life. The space feels more like a premium Sea Terrace than a sprawling penthouse, but you get every Tier 1 perk — Richard’s Rooftop, priority boarding, the stocked in-room bar, RockStar Agent support. Best for couples who want access perks at the lowest suite price.
Brilliant Suite — 482 sq ft. More flexible sleeping configurations than most RockStar Quarters, with the Peek-a-Boo shower as a design highlight. Best for couples who want extra space or small groups who need sleeping flexibility with RockStar perks.
Sweet Aft Suite — 416–661 sq ft. Aft-facing with a terrace built around the wake view. The size range reflects meaningful variation by deck placement. The terrace and open-ocean scenery are the headline — especially on transatlantic crossings. Best for Sailors who prioritize outdoor space and wake views over interior square footage.
Cheeky Corner Suite — 615–857 sq ft. The biggest Tier 1 suite by a wide margin. Corner placement delivers a wraparound terrace with panoramic views. The size variation by deck is significant — check specific deck plans before booking. Best for Sailors who want dramatic outdoor space without jumping to Mega pricing.
Gorgeous Suite — 570 sq ft. The Mega sweet spot. You get the full Mega perk set — daily bar tab, Thermal Suite, premium WiFi, transfers — in a well-designed space that most Sailors can actually justify. Best perks-to-price ratio in the Mega tier.
Posh Suite — 833 sq ft. Significantly more space than Gorgeous, with a terrace that delivers real wow factor. The comfortable “big upgrade” if you want Mega perks with room to spread out. Features include the Peek-a-Boo shower and outdoor Peek-a-View shower.
Fab Suite — 950 sq ft. Designed for entertaining. The indoor-outdoor flow makes the terrace feel like your private lounge. If you’re celebrating a milestone, pair it with a Splash Your Bash package. Best for groups or couples who want a social hub suite.
Massive Suite — 2,147 sq ft. The flagship. A terrace hot tub, music room, and the most over-the-top accommodation Virgin sells. Limited inventory means it books early on peak sailings and holiday cruises. One important exclusion: the Massive Suite is the only cabin on the ship not eligible for Level Upgrade bids.
The price delta between RockStar and Mega RockStar varies by sailing and suite type, but the decision framework is consistent. Add up what you’d spend separately on the perks Mega includes:
If you’d buy even two of those add-ons anyway, the Mega upgrade often pays for a significant portion of the price difference — sometimes most of it. If you’re the type who skips the spa, drinks minimally, and doesn’t need premium WiFi, RockStar Quarters deliver the access perks that matter most (Richard’s Rooftop, priority boarding, RockStar Agent) without the extra cost.
Pro Tip: Another way to bridge the gap — the Mega RockStar daily bar tab covers two wine bottles per day per cabin up to $90 each. That’s potentially $180/day in wine alone before you order a single cocktail. For wine lovers on longer voyages, this single perk can offset a huge chunk of the Mega premium.
For bookings made on or after October 7, 2025, cabin assignment and change rules depend on your fare type.
Booking Tip: If cabin location matters to you — and it should at suite prices — avoid Lock It In fares for suites. The non-Lock It In option gives you a 46-day change window, which is enough time to review the deck plan and request a swap if your assigned cabin has a potential issue. Cross-reference our cabins to avoid guide before your sailing date.
Yes. All cabin categories except the Massive Suite are eligible for Level Upgrade bids. Bids open from 45 days before your voyage and most responses are accepted approximately 48 hours prior to sailing. If your bid from a standard cabin to a suite is accepted, you receive all amenities a suite holder enjoys onboard — including the tier-appropriate perks.
You can’t choose the specific suite or cabin number through Level Upgrade. The charge may appear on your statement as “Plusgrade.” For bidding strategy and timing, see our Level Upgrade bidding guide.
Pro Tip: If you have pop-up blockers enabled, the Level Upgrade eligibility checker may not load properly — it may redirect to a partner site. Disable blockers before attempting to place a bid.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks up to $25 per drink at any bar or restaurant on the ship. Two bottles of wine per day per cabin, up to $90 per bottle. Anything over those limits receives a 25% discount. It’s a per-drink cap system — not a fixed daily dollar amount and not unlimited.
A curated first-round selection: 375ml bottles of rum, gin, vodka, tequila, whiskey, plus white wine, red wine, rosé, and champagne (all 375ml). Mixers include Fever Tree tonic and ginger beer. Beer options are Heineken and the Virgin-exclusive Stray the Course. Energy drinks and kombucha round it out. Quantities and sizing are set by Virgin and aren’t customizable.
For non-Lock It In suite bookings made on or after October 7, 2025, suites are automatically assigned but changes may be possible depending on availability — up to 46 days before sailing. Lock It In suite bookings do not allow cabin changes.
Bids open from 45 days before your voyage and may be available up to 48 hours before sailing, depending on availability. Most bid responses come approximately 48 hours prior to the sail date. All categories except the Massive Suite are eligible.
Virgin Voyages RockStar Suites split into two tiers with very different value propositions. RockStar Quarters deliver the access perks — Richard’s Rooftop, priority boarding, RockStar Agent, and a stocked in-room bar. Mega RockStar bundles high-ticket extras that can offset a meaningful chunk of the price premium if you’d buy them separately. For most first-time suite Sailors, the Seriously Suite (RockStar) or Gorgeous Suite (Mega RockStar) are the smartest entry points at each tier. Ready to find the right suite for your voyage?
