Virgin Voyages entertainment shows aren’t what you expect from a cruise line — and that’s the entire point. There are no Broadway revivals, no licensed jukebox musicals, and no family-friendly song-and-dance revues. Every production across the four Lady Ships is an original creation developed exclusively for Virgin Voyages, and in 2025, Cruise Critic awarded the line Best Entertainment (Mainstream category) in its annual Best in Cruise Awards. Resilient Lady separately won the 2025 USA Today 10Best award for Best Entertainment at Sea. This guide breaks down every headline show across the fleet, how to see them, which ones sell out fastest, and what makes Virgin’s approach to entertainment at sea genuinely different from every other line sailing today.
Most mainstream cruise lines license existing properties or stage Broadway-style revivals. Virgin Voyages took the opposite approach — building original productions developed solely for their ships without relying on familiar musical numbers or adaptations. In late 2025, the line doubled down by launching its own production company, “Screw It, Let’s Do It Productions” — named after Richard Branson’s favorite one-liner — to develop shows for the ships and eventually beyond.
Being an adults-only line makes bolder creative choices possible. Adult language is uncensored. Themes push boundaries. Performances are more contemporary, more experimental, and more culturally current than anything on a family cruise ship. If you’re expecting conservative revue-style entertainment, Virgin Voyages isn’t your line. If you want something newer, less predictable, and designed to spark conversation, this is exactly where you want to be.
The other major difference: Virgin Voyages entertainment shows don’t live only in the theater. Entertainment is a shipwide program — headline productions in The Red Room, roaming performers in corridors and bars, interactive happenings, live music, drag cabaret, comedy, and pop-up experiences that appear without warning. The ship itself becomes the stage.
The Red Room is the main entertainment venue on every Lady Ship and the home of Virgin’s headline productions. It’s the first transformational multi-form theater at sea, designed to shift between three configurations: traditional proscenium stage, alley-stage runway that extends into the audience, and a flat-floor immersive setup where the boundary between performer and Sailor disappears. The configuration changes based on the production — one night you’re in auditorium seating watching acrobats, the next you’re standing in the middle of a mythological underworld.
Every seat is designed to be a good one, which is intentional — Virgin built the venue so there’s no bad angle regardless of where you end up.
Pro Tip: Cabins located near The Red Room can experience bass and vibration during performances. If noise sensitivity is a concern, check our guide to cabins to avoid on Virgin Voyages before you book.
Each Lady Ship carries its own exclusive entertainment lineup alongside a few fleetwide staples. This is a major reason repeat Sailors choose different ships — and why one sailing on Scarlet Lady feels genuinely different from a week on Brilliant Lady. Here’s every headline production across the fleet.
Duel Reality — An acrobatic retelling of Romeo and Juliet with circus-style stunts, aerial acrobatics, hula-hooping, juggling, and rival-gang energy. Ringside-seat intensity. Duel Reality became the first cruise ship production ever to transfer to a land tour (Boston), and it remains one of the most universally loved shows in the fleet.
Booked — Scarlet Lady’s newest production (2025 debut), blending dance, acrobatics, and cabaret-style storytelling. It’s expected to debut on land in 2026 — a milestone for the brand.
LOLz Supper Club — Stand-up comedy from up-and-coming comedians in a classic supper club setting. Intimate, sharp, and adults-only in every sense.
The Magnets — An a cappella group in residence with West End credentials. They’ve played Tom Jones’ tour and the late Queen’s Jubilee. Layered harmonics, live beatboxing, two headline shows per sailing. More musical depth than you’d expect at sea.
It’s a Ship Show! — A supper club variety hour in The Manor that blends old-school talk show energy with live music, comedy, and exclusive performances. It captures how wide-ranging Valiant Lady’s entertainment formats really are.
Persephone — A Greek myth retelling created by House of Yes (the Brooklyn nightclub behind Scarlet Night). Immersive standing-room performance where dancers covered in mirrors weave through the audience, demons climb walls, and the aesthetic is rock-n-roll underworld. Adult language is uncensored on screen throughout. Widely considered by reviewers to be the best show on any cruise ship. It fills fast — arrive early.
Another Rose — The only paid show in the fleet (often $50 per person). A dinner theater experience produced by Randy Weiner (Sleep No More, Queen of the Night) featuring an acrobatic love story told through cabaret, immersive theater, ropes, and roses. A multi-course meal and cocktails are served between acts. Moulin Rouge energy with adult themes throughout. Another Rose is currently exclusive to Resilient Lady and sells out regularly.
Booking Tip: Another Rose is typically reserved onboard. Your Bar Tab typically can’t be used for it, but Sailor Loot may be applied toward the cost. Book as early as possible once onboard.
Out of Time — A time-travel spectacle following Dr. Victoria Vortex as she races to fix her time machine, blending music, comedy, and historical eras in a single production.
Murder in the Manor — An 80s-soaked interactive murder mystery dripping with glitz, gossip, synth-pop, and killer dance moves. Sailors participate in solving the crime.
Up With a Twist — A roaring 20s-inspired supper club dinner show in The Manor with a live band, elevated dining, and an audience-driven ending.
Red Hot — A high-energy musical revue celebrating Virgin’s 50-year music legacy with hits from Virgin Records artists, archival footage, and thrilling choreography. It’s nostalgic, rebellious, and very Virgin Voyages.

Miss Behave — A game show (Team AHOY vs Team SAILOR) that originated at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Full audience participation, never the same twice, chaotic and hilarious — and oddly moving by the end. One of the most talked-about shows in the fleet. It fills fast, so arrive early.
Mind Mangler — A comedy magic show created by MISCHIEF (The Play That Goes Wrong). Intentionally uncomfortable and chaotic at first, then brilliant once you’re in on the joke. Broadway World described it as laugh-filled, mind-bending silliness.
Lola’s Library — Late-night immersive cabaret. A cocktail soirée meets burlesque library, where cast members guide you through an eclectic book collection spanning fairy tales, crime, and horror. Created by No Ceilings Entertainment.
Virgin Voyages entertainment shows in The Red Room are only one layer. The rest of the entertainment ecosystem is designed to be discovered, not scheduled.
The Happenings Cast — A typically 12-person ensemble that replaces the traditional cruise director model entirely. These aren’t just emcees. They host trivia, lead the Grog Walk, perform in headline shows, and appear at bars, during dinner, and in corridors without warning. Entertainment feels more social and personality-driven because the same faces keep showing up across the voyage. Each cast rotates between ships on a set schedule.
Bingo with The Diva — Audience-participation drag bingo in The Red Room. Hosted by whichever Diva is on that sailing, with prizes that can include Bar Tabs and cruise credits. Wildly popular. Fills up fast.
Around the World with The Diva — A drag cabaret show where The Diva dances, sings, and lip-syncs through global music. Each Diva brings their own personality, so the show varies by sailing.
VHS Workout — An 80s/90s-inspired workout class held in The Manor during the day. Neon, leg warmers, and more camp than cardio. It’s a social event that happens to involve movement.
Festival Stage Acts — A rotating roster of comedians, magicians, mentalists, and specialty performers across all ships. Lineups change regularly, which keeps things fresh for repeat Sailors.
Live music is central, not background. On the Rocks features a live house band most evenings, DJs rotate through bars and pool areas, and On Deck Sailings bring full-scale concerts from artists like Nile Rodgers and Chic, Kelis, and Mel C. These are real performances, not DJ sets.
Pop-up performances happen without warning — Happenings Cast members appear in unexpected places throughout the ship. Some Sailors have even reported receiving invitations to secret parties and performances that aren’t listed anywhere in advance. Part of the design philosophy: entertainment doesn’t need a stage.
Entertainment also runs on port days. Virgin programs onboard events even when the ship is docked, so the experience never goes quiet between sea days.
Scarlet Night deserves its own section because it’s not just a party — it’s effectively a shipwide signature production. Created by House of Yes, it’s a shipwide activation that takes over Deck 6 and Deck 7 and culminates on Deck 15 surrounding the pool (weather pending). Roaming performers, pop-up acrobatics, storytelling moments, and a major poolside payoff. It’s messy, loud, hilarious, and unlike anything else at sea.
The official meeting point is the Roundabout on either Deck 6 or Deck 7 at the posted start time. Wear red. Everyone does.
Pro Tip: The Scarlet Night photo booth sends photos to the email you enter at the booth. If you enter the wrong email, Virgin does not retain the photos and cannot retrieve them after the voyage ends. Double-check before you tap submit.
Most Virgin Voyages entertainment shows don’t require reservations — and in fact, Virgin does not currently offer seating reservations for shows. Headline productions in The Red Room are first come, first served. Show up, find a seat, enjoy.
Two show times are typically offered for each production, which lets you plan around your dinner reservations. Check the daily Lineup in the Virgin Voyages app (Discover > Lineup) for exact times — schedules shift based on sailing length and itinerary.
Depending on your fare type, pre-voyage dining booking windows vary — many Sailors can book 45 days before sailing, while RockStar Quarters Sailors typically get a 60-day head start. Some paid experiences must be booked onboard rather than in advance — Another Rose typically falls into this category.
Pro Tip: Miss Behave and Persephone often fill fastest. For these two specifically, plan to arrive 20–30 minutes before showtime on busier sailings. Every other show is easier to walk into, but arriving 15 minutes early is good practice across the board.

Lineups change over time — Scarlet Lady has already seen multiple entertainment refreshes since launch. Check the Virgin Voyages app before your sailing for the confirmed schedule. Not every show runs on every voyage, and shorter sailings may feature a reduced lineup.
Not at this time. Virgin Voyages does not offer seating reservations for shows. All headline productions are first come, first served — arrive early for the most popular ones.
Meet at the Roundabout on Deck 6 or Deck 7 at the posted start time. The event takes over both decks and culminates at the pool on Deck 15, weather permitting.
Photos are sent to the email address you enter at the booth. Virgin does not retain copies — if you enter the wrong email, the photos cannot be recovered after your voyage ends.
Non-ticketed means no advance booking is needed — just show up. These events are first come, first served, so arrive early if it’s a popular show like Miss Behave or Bingo with The Diva.
Yes. Virgin Voyages programs onboard entertainment even when the ship is docked. The daily Lineup in the app will show exactly what’s happening each day, whether at sea or in port.
Virgin Voyages entertainment shows are original, adults-only, and built to be the kind of thing you talk about long after you leave the ship. Almost everything is included in your fare, there’s a distinct lineup on each Lady Ship, and the entertainment extends well beyond The Red Room into every corner of the voyage. If you want help choosing the right ship for the shows you’re most excited about — or building your voyage around the full entertainment calendar — your First Mate at Serious Sailors can walk you through every option.
