Civitavecchia is Romes cruise port, about 90 minutes by train or bus from the Eternal City itself. Rome needs no introduction—the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vatican Citys St. Peters Basilica and Sistine Chapel. Trying to "do Rome" in a day is madness, but hitting a few major sites and soaking up the atmosphere is possible with strategic planning.
