SERIOUS SAILORS SCORE 3.1
Serious Sailors Score
Solid pick
Motion Fair Noise Excellent Location Good
Motion — Fair

Motion on a ship is felt most strongly at the bow and on the upper decks, and it settles toward the middle and lower decks. Cabin 10372M sits forward on Deck 10, toward the bow where the hull meets wave action first. Even so, it lands mid-pack on our motion scale — in part because of a bit more pitching at the forward end — and you will feel the ship working in moderate seas. Sailors prone to seasickness will be steadier mid-ship and a deck or two lower.

Noise — Excellent

How quiet a cabin feels comes down to what surrounds it — the nearest venues, the busiest elevator banks, and whatever sits directly above or below. Cabin 10372M sits forward on Deck 10, at the quiet front of the ship and away from the main evening venues. It earns a top noise score, and most sailors will find it genuinely quiet day and night. With no outside noise at all as an interior cabin, it is about as restful as a cabin gets.

Location — Good

Location really comes down to how far you are from the places you use most — the main dining rooms, the pool deck, and the gangway on port days. Cabin 10372M sits forward on Deck 10, with quick access to the forward elevators and a central spot along the hallway. Keeping the forward venues close at hand is what earns it a strong location score. The main trade-off is a longer walk to the elevators from far forward, plus a longer haul to the aft pool and dining, but for sailors happy to base themselves forward it is an easy one to accept.

What we love

  • Close to elevators
  • Near pools
  • Interior cabin - no outside noise

Things to know

The cabin

The cabin, told straight.

The Insider is one of Virgin's most-booked cabins. Cabin 10372M delivers it from a forward, central side position on Deck 10.

The Insider is Virgin Voyages’ smartest-value cabin: a calm, windowless retreat with mood lighting, a queen bed that converts to two twins, clever storage, and USB charging. The bathroom packs a rainfall shower and premium toiletries, while complimentary Wi-Fi and in-room controls keep things easy. Perfect for Sailors who want a dark, quiet place to sleep and save their budget for the good stuff.

“We rate every cabin the way we'd brief a friend — motion, noise and location first, marketing never. Cabin 10372M earns its 3.1.”
— The Serious Sailors crew

About the cabin number itself: the letter at the end of every Insider tells you which side of the ship you're on. A-suffixed cabins sit on the port side (left, facing forward); Z-suffixed cabins sit on the starboard side (right). Cabin 10372M sits on the central corridor rather than a fixed port or starboard side.

What makes 10372M specific is its placement. Forward means a little more pitch in a swell, but quieter corridors. Deck 10 sets your elevator distance to dining and the pool deck. Cabin 10372M also rides a touch livelier than midship when the sea is up, being well forward. Prefer to compare the whole category? See every Insider cabin →
