SERIOUS SAILORS SCORE 4.8
Serious Sailors Score

Motion Very Good Noise Excellent Location Very Good
Motion — Very Good

Motion on a ship is felt most strongly at the bow and on the upper decks, and it settles toward the middle and lower decks. Cabin 13158A sits midship on Deck 13, along the stretch of the ship that moves the least, though its higher deck adds a little more sway in a swell. Helped by the steady ride that comes with a midship position, it stays comfortable on most itineraries, with real motion only when the seas pick up.

Noise — Excellent

How quiet a cabin feels comes down to what surrounds it — the nearest venues, the busiest elevator banks, and whatever sits directly above or below. Cabin 13158A sits midship on Deck 13, central to the ship and near the busier mid-ship elevator bank. It earns a top noise score, and most sailors will find it genuinely quiet day and night.

Location — Very Good

Location really comes down to how far you are from the places you use most — the main dining rooms, the pool deck, and the gangway on port days. Cabin 13158A sits midship on Deck 13, the most central spot on any deck, with steps from the midship elevators. Being this central keeps almost everything within an easy walk, which is what earns it a strong location score. The main trade-off is a longer elevator ride down to most dining, but for sailors happy to base themselves midship it is an easy one to accept.

What we love

  • Has red terrace hammock
  • Has a glass balcony

The cabin

The cabin, told straight.

The Central Sea Terrace is one of Virgin's most-booked cabins. Cabin 13158A delivers it from a midship, port side position on Deck 13.

Midship stability meets oceanfront living in these thoughtfully positioned cabins. You'll find yourself perfectly centered between dining venues and entertainment decks, making every ship experience just an elevator ride away. The terrace catches both sunrise and sunset beautifully, while the cabin's adaptive lighting system shifts from energizing daylight to intimate evening ambiance. Smart storage solutions keep your space uncluttered and zen.

“We rate every cabin the way we'd brief a friend — motion, noise and location first, marketing never. Cabin 13158A earns its 4.8.”
— The Serious Sailors crew

About the cabin number itself: the letter at the end of every Central Sea Terrace tells you which side of the ship you're on. A-suffixed cabins sit on the port side (left, facing forward); Z-suffixed cabins sit on the starboard side (right). Cabin 13158A ends in A, so it’s a port-side cabin — its mirror twin 13158Z is the identical layout on starboard.

What makes 13158A specific is its placement. Midship is the steadiest stretch of the ship — the smart pick if motion matters to you. Deck 13 sets your elevator distance to dining and the pool deck. the "A" suffix puts you on the port side (left, facing forward). Cabin 13158A also keeps the midship elevators just around the corner. In cabin 13158A, the foot of the bed faces forward toward the bow, so you fall asleep with the wake behind you and wake up looking out toward the ocean ahead of the ship. Because the bed sits closer to the cabin door, the terrace side has noticeably more floor clearance — useful for keeping luggage near the entry or moving around without stepping past the bed at night. The queen bed also splits into two twins at no extra charge — just request that setup before you sail.
