SERIOUS SAILORS SCORE 3.2
Serious Sailors Score
Solid pick
Motion Fair Noise Excellent Location Fair
Motion — Fair

Motion on a ship is felt most strongly at the bow and on the upper decks, and it settles toward the middle and lower decks. Cabin 13310Z sits forward on Deck 13, toward the bow where the hull meets wave action first, though its higher deck adds a little more sway in a swell. Even so, it lands mid-pack on our motion scale — in part because of a bit more pitching at the forward end — and you will feel the ship working in moderate seas. Sailors prone to seasickness will be steadier mid-ship and a deck or two lower.

Noise — Excellent

How quiet a cabin feels comes down to what surrounds it — the nearest venues, the busiest elevator banks, and whatever sits directly above or below. Cabin 13310Z sits forward on Deck 13, at the quiet front of the ship and away from the main evening venues. It earns a top noise score, and most sailors will find it genuinely quiet day and night.

Location — Fair

Location really comes down to how far you are from the places you use most — the main dining rooms, the pool deck, and the gangway on port days. Cabin 13310Z sits forward on Deck 13. It is perfectly workable, but a longer elevator ride down to most dining; if quick access matters to you, a mid-ship cabin on this deck reaches everything faster.

What we love

  • Has red terrace hammock
  • Has a glass balcony

Things to know

  • Forward location - more pitching motion
  • Higher deck - longer elevator ride to dining
  • Long hallway walk to elevators
The cabin

The cabin, told straight.

The Sea Terrace is one of Virgin's most-booked cabins. Cabin 13310Z delivers it from a forward, starboard side position on Deck 13.

Virgin's most popular cabin delivers the sweet spot of space, style, and those addictive ocean breezes. The Sea Terrace pairs a private outdoor terrace with bright, thoughtfully designed interiors — perfect for Sailors who want fresh-air mornings and cozy evenings. Enjoy a comfortable queen bed (or convertible twin layout), lounge-ready seating, a marble bath with premium fixtures, USB charging and complimentary Wi-Fi. Ideal for guests who want a true indoor/outdoor cabin experience without upgrading to a suite.

“We rate every cabin the way we'd brief a friend — motion, noise and location first, marketing never. Cabin 13310Z earns its 3.2.”
— The Serious Sailors crew

About the cabin number itself: the letter at the end of every Sea Terrace tells you which side of the ship you're on. A-suffixed cabins sit on the port side (left, facing forward); Z-suffixed cabins sit on the starboard side (right). Cabin 13310Z ends in Z, so it’s a starboard-side cabin — its mirror twin 13310A is the identical layout on port.

What makes 13310Z specific is its placement. Forward means a little more pitch in a swell, but quieter corridors. Deck 13 sets your elevator distance to dining and the pool deck. the "Z" suffix puts you on the starboard side (right, facing forward). Notably, it rides a touch livelier than midship when the sea is up, being well forward. Prefer to compare the whole category? See every Sea Terrace cabin →

The foot of the bed in cabin 13310Z points toward the bow, which means you wake up looking out toward the ocean ahead of the ship rather than back into the room. Since cabin 13310Z's bed is positioned nearer the terrace, the cabin-door-side floor stays clearer, which makes it easier to get in and out on that side and to wheel a suitcase through without climbing over the mattress. If you would rather have two separate beds, the queen converts to twins for free; flag it before sailing.
