Motion — Fair

Motion on a ship is felt most strongly at the bow and on the upper decks, and it settles toward the middle and lower decks. Cabin 14011A sits aft on Deck 14, toward the stern, which generally rides easier than the forward end, though its higher deck adds a little more sway in a swell. Even so, it lands mid-pack on our motion scale — in part because of some extra sway up on a higher deck in rough seas — and you will feel the ship working in moderate seas. Sailors prone to seasickness will be steadier mid-ship and a deck or two lower.

Noise — Very Good

How quiet a cabin feels comes down to what surrounds it — the nearest venues, the busiest elevator banks, and whatever sits directly above or below. Cabin 14011A sits at the aft end of Deck 14, well clear of the ship's late-night venues and the busy mid-ship elevators. Deck 14 sits directly beneath the pool deck, which can bring some daytime sound from above. Overall it stays quiet, with only mild sound during the busiest daytime hours. The one thing to know is its closeness to a few of the ship's livelier venues and occasional overhead sound from the pool deck above, though it rarely amounts to much.

Location — Very Good

Location really comes down to how far you are from the places you use most — the main dining rooms, the pool deck, and the gangway on port days. Cabin 14011A sits at the aft end of Deck 14, with easy access to the aft elevators and sitting just one deck below Richard's Rooftop. Keeping the back-of-ship venues close at hand is what earns it a strong location score. The main trade-off is a longer walk to the gangway from far aft and a longer elevator ride down to most dining, plus more distance to the forward theater and dining, but for sailors happy to base themselves aft it is an easy one to accept.

Things to know

The cabin

The cabin, told straight.

The Cheeky Corner Suite is one of Virgin's most-booked cabins. Cabin 14011A delivers it from an aft, port side position on Deck 14.

Corners were made for cocktails. Wrapping around the ship's stern, your terrace spans nearly a third of the vessel's width – we're talking serious square footage. Higher decks mean bigger balconies, so book accordingly. The panoramic wake views are hypnotic, though you'll work up an appetite walking to Richard's Rooftop from here. The bathroom's double-basin setup prevents morning traffic jams.

“We rate every cabin the way we'd brief a friend — motion, noise and location first, marketing never. Cabin 14011A earns its 4.3.”
— The Serious Sailors crew

About the cabin number itself: the letter at the end of every Cheeky Corner Suite tells you which side of the ship you're on. A-suffixed cabins sit on the port side (left, facing forward); Z-suffixed cabins sit on the starboard side (right). Cabin 14011A ends in A, so it’s a port-side cabin — its mirror twin 14011Z is the identical layout on starboard.

What makes 14011A specific is its placement. Aft puts you near the wake views, with the occasional gentle engine hum on lower decks. Deck 14 sets your elevator distance to dining and the pool deck. the "A" suffix puts you on the port side (left, facing forward). One cabin-specific detail: it sits just one deck below Richard's Rooftop. Prefer to compare the whole category? See every Cheeky Corner Suite cabin →
