SERIOUS SAILORS SCORE 2.6
Serious Sailors Score
Has trade-offs
Motion Fair Noise Very Good Location Good
Motion — Fair

Motion on a ship is felt most strongly at the bow and on the upper decks, and it settles toward the middle and lower decks. Cabin 9366Z sits forward on Deck 9, toward the bow where the hull meets wave action first. Even so, it lands mid-pack on our motion scale — in part because of a bit more pitching at the forward end — and you will feel the ship working in moderate seas. Sailors prone to seasickness will be steadier mid-ship and a deck or two lower.

Noise — Very Good

How quiet a cabin feels comes down to what surrounds it — the nearest venues, the busiest elevator banks, and whatever sits directly above or below. Cabin 9366Z sits forward on Deck 9, at the quiet front of the ship and away from the main evening venues. Overall it stays quiet, with only mild sound during the busiest daytime hours. The one thing to know is some bow-thruster rumble on docking mornings, though it rarely amounts to much.

Location — Good

Location really comes down to how far you are from the places you use most — the main dining rooms, the pool deck, and the gangway on port days. Cabin 9366Z sits forward on Deck 9. Keeping the forward venues close at hand is what earns it a strong location score. The main trade-off is a partial metal-and-glass balcony railing, plus a longer haul to the aft pool and dining, but for sailors happy to base themselves forward it is an easy one to accept.

The cabin

The cabin, told straight.

The XL Sea Terrace is one of Virgin's most-booked cabins. Cabin 9366Z delivers it from a forward, starboard side position on Deck 9.

The XL Sea Terrace gives you suite-style space without the suite price. A larger-than-standard private terrace and roomy interior deliver true indoor/outdoor living: flexible sleeping for couples or families, generous storage, a marble bathroom with premium fixtures, and lounge-ready terrace seating with ocean views. Ideal for Sailors who want outdoor space and extra room.

“We rate every cabin the way we'd brief a friend — motion, noise and location first, marketing never. Cabin 9366Z earns its 2.6.”
— The Serious Sailors crew

About the cabin number itself: the letter at the end of every XL Sea Terrace tells you which side of the ship you're on. A-suffixed cabins sit on the port side (left, facing forward); Z-suffixed cabins sit on the starboard side (right). Cabin 9366Z ends in Z, so it’s a starboard-side cabin — its mirror twin 9366A is the identical layout on port.

What makes 9366Z specific is its placement. Forward means a little more pitch in a swell, but quieter corridors. Deck 9 sets your elevator distance to dining and the pool deck. the "Z" suffix puts you on the starboard side (right, facing forward). One cabin-specific detail: it may pick up the bow thrusters on docking mornings. Prefer to compare the whole category? See every XL Sea Terrace cabin →
